Training become a Director of SDI. Prerequisite: OWSI Instructor You must present a medical certificate of no against indication to the practice of diving upon your arrival. To succeed this training, you must be sporty and already have at least 2 deep recent in the Mediterranean. Minimum age 21 years. 2. have 200 validated dives 3. Be an instructor open water scuba diver SDI or equivalent active for a minimum of two years without having had any questions related to quality assurance during the last 12 months. 4. have certified at least 150 SDI divers or equivalent at different levels. 5. suggested levels are as defined below: a. 100 open water b. 25 rescue c. 20 specialties d. 5 divemasters or assistant instructors 6. The candidate must show that he has used the SDI/TDI/ERDI standards with the course materials to drive or attend at least 5 full SDI/TDI/ERDI courses. 7. have a CPROX and CPR1st or CPROX1stAED certification or First response training international or equivalent according to local legislation.

Required performance

The presentation and evaluation topics are extracted from the SDI Instructor Development Program and candidates are asked to successfully complete the following competencies, using the SDI teaching materials:

1. Complete the SDI Course Director prerequisite study kit which includes: a. Written examination standards and procedures b. OWSD Online Instructor Course c. Online Professional Familiarization Course (Gateway) 2. Present at the level and quality expected of an instructor-trainer, a minimum of: a. Two theoretical presentations at the diver* level b. Three theoretical presentations at instructor level* c. Two confined environment presentations at diver level d. Two presentations in natural environment at diver level 3. Evaluate a minimum of: a. Two theoretical presentations at the diver's level* b. Three theoretical presentations at the instructor level* c. Two confined space presentations at the instructor level d. Two natural environment presentations at instructor level e. A rescue demonstration 4. Pass the written examination of Course Director with a mark of 80% or more, and 100% on catching up by the IT examiner 5. Must provide proof of having staffed a complete SDI IDC. Swimming pool/protected area: 1. carry out a complete rescue scenario at demonstration level 2. Perform a survival floatation for 10 minutes without using swimming aids; 3. Swim 400 metres at the surface without stopping, freestyle, without using swimming aids, in less than 10 minutes. 4. Swim 800 meters with fins, mask, snorkel, without stopping and without using your arms, in less than 17 minutes. 5. Rise up a diver who simulates unconsciousness to a depth of no more than 6 meters. On the surface, tow it alone for 100 metres in less than 4 minutes. 6. Candidates must demonstrate, at a demonstration level, all the skills listed in the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course. Natural Environment: 1. candidates must demonstrate in the natural environment, at a demonstration level, all the skills listed in the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course. 2. Solving problems concerning the natural environment 3. Demonstrate mature and fair judgment in student training and assessment. * The theoretical topics selected by the instructor trainer (IT) who leads the training include, but are not limited to: 1.
